Scope and Content of the Series
Series III, Personal Papers, 1951-1989, contains issues of The Neighbor (January 1951 through April 1952) published by the Kew Gardens Hills Tenants Council in New York where Kehrer resided with his family while with the ILGWU in New York City. Kehrer served as the Council's president and was actively involved in its projects. The other material in this series is correspondence and expense information pertaining to Kehrer's hobbies of beekeeping and the raising of shitake mushrooms, clippings related to his wife's legal career, and other personal matters.
