Scope and Content of the Records
From the Collection:
The collection consists of records of Local 136 (Knoxville, Tenn.) of the American Federation of Government Employees from 1934-1938 and records of Local 24 (Knoxville, Tenn.) of the United Federal Workers of America from 1937-1941. Includes correspondence, financial materials, grievance files, minutes, and reports. The materials pertain to the two union's representation of Tennessee Valley Authority employees and also documents day-to-day business activities between the local unions and national offices.
