Scope and Content of the Files
The arbitration files, 1977-1987, involve cases assigned to Mr. Rimer by the Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service. The cases concern employee disputes between employers and the union representing the employee. Cases in the files include disputes over lost wages, being overlooked for promotions, and wrongful terminations. Nearly all of the cases were between unions and companies in the southeast region of the United States.
The material, dated 1977-1987, include the official documents for each case, including correspondence from the Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service, "Employer/Union Appearance Forms", the official "Opinion and Award," Mr. Rimer's fee statements and general correspondence regarding each case.
