General note
On recto, annotated: "Picket sign at Church of Our Savior a[t] Highland and Los Angeles across from the Fire Station on Virginia-Highland. Participants: Maria Getzinger Jones, Sandra Adams, Maxine Turner, and some women from nearby towns. The Episcopal Church was then in national conference to vote on women's ordination, Summer 1996. Members of Church of Our Savior lined up across the street in front of the fire station with cartons of eggs in their hands -- but didn't egg us. World Communion Sunday, October 1996. Carter Heywood, one of the Philadelphia 11 celebrated communion at the home of Maxine Turner, 191 Elmira Point, Candler Park, 30307. He and I exchanged letters in the Atlanta Journal. John Crown was a high church Anglican, retired Colonel, and ultra conservative columnist for the Atlanta Journal. Fr. Pettit at Church of Our Savior drove me into the women's movement when he said the women's only role in the early church was a[s] temple prostitutes. By Maxine Turner."
