Scope and Contents of the Subseries

Subseries B: Photographs, is divided into two sub-subseries: Sub-subseries 1: Prints, and Sub-subseries 2: Rolled landscape portraits. The photographs of Subseries B include images of the 1945-46 strike, Local 246 business agent Edgar Maynard, and other local union leaders such as Howard Harris, Robert Murray and Phil Gunter. There are 5 print photographs of conventions, 4 oversized landscape portraits of conventions and 10 rolled landscape portraits of biennial conventions. The oldest rolled photograph dates from 1939 and is the "First Constitutional Convention of the Textile Workers Union of America." There is also one undated oversized landscape portrait that appears to predate 1939 (OS 17/2).
