Community Interventions Evaluation (CIE) Project, year three application, 1996
Scope and Content of the Subseries
Subseries E: Grant writing, 1994-1998, primarily documents the Community Interventions Evaluation (CIE) Project grant, awarded by the Centers for DC.
The goal of the study was to increase awareness by men and women in two counties (Douglas and Paulding) in the Atlanta metro area about a pro-arrest policy for batterers, and to educate women about greater self-protective behaviours. The study evaluated a community's response to domestic violence. They collected and analyzed data on such things as: police response to 911 calls, how often charges are filed, the disposition of cases, the clergy's response to domestic violence, the availability of victim services, school programs of education and intervention, and public perceptions of domestic violence.
For some years, there are two sets of grant applications. They are not identical and it is unclear why two should exist. It is possible that one set constitutes year-end "reporting" documentation.
