Scope and Content of the Series

The series primarily contains printed material and correspondence, as well as minutes and financial documents. The series documents Mary Long's service to the national organization for nurses in the United States, including documentation of her campaigns for office, committee and task force service, speeches and presentations she made, and training she conducted. The series contains material relating to Long's service on the Executive Committee of the Division on Community Health Nursing Practice, on the ANA Executive Board, as ANA Second Vice President, and to her role as chair of the "Nursing on the Move" Capital Campaign (1990-1993). The series also includes routine executive correspondence, material related to biennial Conventions and House of Delegates meetings, and material relating to ANA's legislative campaigns during the 1990s.
