Scope and Content of the Series

Two subseries form this series: A. Membership Applications, Lists B. Voting

The first of these subseries contains membership monthly reports, membership application forms, seniority and sick lists, withdrawal lists and funeral claims. Membership information is also included in dues deduction reports and dues records; these files are found in Series VI/A/3. (NOTE: Many of the files in Series IV/A contain personal information; see access restrictions.) The second subseries, Voting, includes sample ballots, tally sheets, and lists for various elections and votes, dating mainly from the 1970s. One tally sheet dated 10/24/78 (see OVERSIZE) enumerates the votes on the charges against C. V. Jacobs (see also Series V).

Collection is open for research use. Because of the personal information contained in Series III, Subseries C (Grievance Reports) and Subseries D (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission proceedings), see the labor archivist for access to the following boxes: L1971-05, Boxes 29 and 30, and L1982-02, Boxes 13-19.

In addition, because some records in Series VI, Subseries A (General Financial Documents) and Subseries B (Pension Fund Documents) contain personal information, the labor archivist must be consulted for access to the following boxes: L1982-02, Boxes 29-30; Oversize 3.
