Scope and Content of the Records

From the Collection:

The records, 1935-1945, of the Communications Workers of America, Local 3250 (Atlanta, Ga.), consist of correspondence, minutes, memos, and printed items that illuminate the relationship between Branch 3101 of the Federation of Long Lines Telephone Workers (a predecessor of Local 3250) and the American Telephone and Telegraph Company over issues related to wages and job classifications. Several memos describe the extensive negotiations that averted a nationwide strike by telephone workers in 1941.
