Scope and Content of the Subseries
Subseries 2: Subject Files, 1945 - 1977 is alphabetically arranged and contains files concerning back pay cases, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, farm workers, the General Electric strike, Health and Welfare Fund, membership, the Mobile Health Center/Unit, organizing activities and political education, 1960 Presidential election and other subject areas.
This subseries also contains information re organizing efforts in Spartanburg, South Carolina ("South Carolina (Spartanburg, S.C.), 1959 - 1962") cited in Marshall's Labor in the South (pps. 280-282) with an emphasis on that city's License Tax Ordinance affecting handbill distribution. The researcher is also directed to the "Spartan Undies" folders in Series 3.
