Domestic violence: No murder, 1988

Subseries A, News clippings, circa 1983-1995 (bulk 1988-1990), contains a group of news clippings on domestic violence and related issues that the GNADV/GABWC collected during the 1980s and early 1990s, primarily during the period between 1988 and 1990. A large subgroup of these clippings covers incidences of domestic violence in which murder was involved, especially cases in which women were murdered by their spouse or boyfriend. Also included in this subseries are two short news clippings on the GABWC's activities in 1992 and 1993, highlighting particularly the organization's advocacy work on clemency and parole for battered women (see Box 12, Folder 1; see also Series I, Subseries B). Magazine and other articles are also frequently found in Series I. Files are arranged topically and chronologically; the news clippings relating directly to GABWC are placed first.
