Scope and Content of the Subseries
Subseries C, Statistical files, 1981-1997 (bulk 1986-1989), consists of a series of folders containing data on domestic violence incidents collected from shelters across the state of Georgia. Detailed monthly statistical reports are available for the period from January 1986 through September 1989; less detailed information on the period before and after this range of dates is found in the earliest and latest files of this subseries. A folder on statistics from the National Domestic Violence Hotline, one folder on national statistics, one containing statistics on homicides and suicides in Georgia, and an oversize poster showing the growth in the number of shelters in Georgia from 1978 to 1988, complete the subseries. Files are arranged chronologically.
