Scope and Content of the Records
The Records, 1941-1978 of Local 1275 (Tampa, Florida) of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters comprise series of correspondence, minutes, financial documents, legal documents, photographs, and printed material such as handbooks, reports, serial publications, contracts, and constitutions. The correspondence (1957-1978), minutes (1960-1978), and financial documents (1941-1978) pertain to other organizations besides Local 1275. These include the Gulf Coast District Council of Carpenters (GCDCC), the Florida West Coast Carpenters' Joint Apprenticeship Trust Fund (JATC), the Pinellas County Building Trades Council, the Florida Building Trades Council, the Florida Council of Carpenters, the Pinellas County Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Committee (JAC), and Carpenters Local 531. A principal correspondent of many of these organizations is Florida Administrators, a private firm specializing in administering welfare and pension funds.
