Poster of a 1900 broadside reproduction
Scope and Content of the Papers
The collection, bulking in the 1970s, consists of printed material, personal material and two artifacts that reflect Pollock's interest in feminism and the women's movement. The printed materials (folders 1-8) include a program and registration form for the August 1973 conference "The American Woman: Who Will She Be?" held at the University of Georgia; cartoons on gender equity and women's liberation, circa 1973-1976; the 1975 Liberated Woman's Appointment Calendar, miscellaneous printed material and a poster. Personal materials (folders 9-10) include an "Emancipated Woman" birthday card, a thank you note from Betty Ford, and an original cartoon signed by "Gruner." Artifacts include ERA jewelry. According to Pollock, much of the printed material in her collection was hung on her personal bulletin board at St. Mary's Hospital.
