Scope and Content of the Series

Minutes, correspondence, reports and printed material, notes, financial records, and photographs make up the records of SCNA's structural units (committees, councils/cabinets/commissions, and occupational/interest groups). The series also includes records of SCNA programs, separately managed organizations chartered by the association, and limited records reflecting collaboration between SCNA and other associations or state agencies.

Records in this series were filed separately. In some instances, files or binders contained reports and minutes from a particular unit for a number of years. Starting in the 1980s, Executive Office staff created binders containing minutes of all units, which were disassembled to create files in this series. Some office holders or members deposited personal and unit records at the main office. Where possible, those files, which often duplicate material in office files but include additional notes and printed material, have been identified by creator.

Restrictions on Access

Collection is open for research use. Access to sound recordings and motion pictures is restricted. Access to certain records containing personal information is restricted (noted on inventory).
