Printed Material, Miscellaneous, 1974

The Records, 1955, 1961-1979 of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union consist of correspondence, financial documents, legal documents, printed material, filmstrips, and a sound recording documenting the activities of TWUA local bodies in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Included are locals 1151 (Jasper, AL); 1633 (Mobile, AL); 1840 (Opelika, AL); 1882 (Atmore, AL); 943 (Cedartown, GA); 1549 (Cedartown, GA); 1647 (Cedartown, GA); 1876 (Calhoun, GA); 1833 (Anderson, SC); 1950 (Belton, SC); 1742 (Knoxville, TN); and 2102 (Chattanooga, TN). The remainder of the collection consists of printed material generated by the North Carolina State Industrial Union Council concerning the merger of the American Federation of Labor and the Congress of Industrial Organizations in 1955.
