The Records, 1939-1976, of the Southern Region, Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, contain correspondence, War Labor Board and National Labor Relations Board case material, employer files, financial documents, minutes, and miscellaneous printed items, all related to the union's organizing efforts throughout the South and Southwest. The correspondence is primarily between four Southern Region Directors--Clyde Mills (1939), Bernard Borah (1939-1940), Harry Haberthear (1946-1955), Edward Blair (1956-1974)--and ACWA organizers, officials, and departments. A notable correspondent is ACWA Vice-President Gladys Dickason. A significant portion of the employer files concerns the Farah Corporation (El Paso, Tx.) and the T.I.L. Sportswear Co. (Aberdeen, Ms.).
