Reports, 1950, 1965-1970
Scope and Content of the Records
The Records, 1920-1931; 1949-1970, of the Asheville (N.C.) Labor Temple are composed of correspondence, financial statements, minutes, and printed items. Principal correspondents for the Temple are J. E. Jervis, and Raymond Stepp, Walter Moody, and J. H. Garren. Notable topics of discussion include the 1963 expulsion of the Enka (N.C.) Rayon Workers and the local's subsequent attempt to recover its substantial investment by liquidating the Temple, and Jervis' 1966 resignation from his position as Secretary-Treasurer. Included in these Records are some minutes and financial documents of the Asheville Central Labor Union.
