Scope and Content of the Series
This series documents Diane Fowlkes' life prior to her appointment to the position of Assistant Professor at Georgia State University. Included in this series are student papers, transcripts, and other official documents relating to her undergraduate education at Southwestern at Memphis and her graduate work at Emory University. A few letters from this period, including correspondence from Tennessee senator Albert Gore and other Tennessee politicians, also form part of this series.
