Scope and Contents
Consists of documents related to affirmative action and employment and training programs at the Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Includes notes, news articles, employee statistics for Ingalls Shipyard, a proposal of Litton Industries to implement affirmative action programs at the Shipyard, and a proposal from the AFL-CIO Civil Rights Department to create a Human Relations Council to help manage discrimination cases for the Pascagoula Metal Trades Council. Also includes a handbook on implementing civil rights committees for local unions, published by the United Steelworkers of America.
