Scope and Contents of the Records
South Carolina AFL-CIO records, 1963, 1976-2008, include correspondence, minutes, and other records of the president and executive board, 1976-1990, 1998-2001, 2008; files of the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) Labor Coordinator, 1963, 1977-1996; and files of the Industry Work Experience Program (IWEP) Coordinator, 1978-1990. Audio and audiovisual recordings document meetings and conventions, 1978-2008. A few files, mostly containing printed material, document the "Charleston Five," picketing members of the International Longshoremen's Association who were accused of inciting a riot in 2000.
