Scope and Content of the Painters, Decorators, and Paperhangers of America, District Council 38, records
These records illuminate the functioning of the Atlanta central body of Painters. Chiefly the minutes, financial and legal documents, and correspondence describe internal disciplinary actions and external jurisdictional disputes, as with the Carpenters and Brickmasons over the installation of mirrors and the painting of masonry surfaces. Disagreements with several companies over agreement violation and picketing also appear. The minutes give a full picture of the Council's activities, while correspondence from affiliated locals reveals day-to-day transactions.
