Scope and Content of the Papers

The Anne L. Harper papers consist of files relating to Harper's effort to draft a state bill to further enforce the federal Title IX law. These files include copies of draft bills, meeting notes, related articles and editorials, and documents recording initiatives to promote Title IX. The Anne L. Harper papers also contain information on the Coalition for Gender Equity in Sports (CGES) including the bylaws, membership forms, and notes on planned activities. The papers detail Harper's speeches and work done at conferences and as part of her duties on the Atlanta School Board. The Anne L. Harper papers also provide statistical information regarding school athletics, particularly in Atlanta, and generally around Georgia. The papers include materials on other civic organizations with which Harper was actively involved.
