Scope and Contents of the Collection
The Irwin Glusker collection consists of ephemera and printed material collected while researching the content for the 1986 book, Southerners: Portrait of a People that he co-created with Charles Kuralt. Glusker was responsible for the look of Southerners in its design and pictorial content. He searched archives, libraries and historical societies throughout the South gathering copies of originals to document Kuralt's narrative.
The collection consists of the ephemera he collected along the way, including stereographs, circa 1900, and postcards, brochures, articles, museum guides, programs and posters, the bulk of which from the 1950s to the 1980s.
