Scope and Content of the Series
This series contains interviewee folders from the Making of Modern Atlanta project. These files can include transcripts, questions, biographical sketches, and correspondence.
The born-digital aspect of this collection contains oral histories and interviews from Making of Modern Atlanta project, in both audio and audio/video, as well as other footage collected and created for the documentary project.
Video interviews and the final production were created by Another Jones Production, LLC, on behalf of Harvey Newman and Andrea Young.

Biographical Note
Sam Williams was a partner with Portman Properties, and Vice President of John Portman and Associates. Prior to retiring in 2014, Williams led metro Atlanta’s business community for 17 years as the Metro Atlanta Chamber president. Before that, he lead the downtown Atlanta business community as president of Central Atlanta Progress. After retirement, he joined the faculty of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. He also served as the President of AmericasMart Atlanta for 12 years.
