Scope and Content of the Series
This series contains interviewee folders from the Making of Modern Atlanta project. These files can include transcripts, questions, biographical sketches, and correspondence.
The born-digital aspect of this collection contains oral histories and interviews from Making of Modern Atlanta project, in both audio and audio/video, as well as other footage collected and created for the documentary project.
Video interviews and the final production were created by Another Jones Production, LLC, on behalf of Harvey Newman and Andrea Young.

Biographical Note
Richard Arrington, born October 19, 1934 in Livingston, Alabama, was the first Black mayor of the city of Birmingham, Alabama (U.S.), serving 20 years, from 1979 to 1999.
