Scope and Contents of the Records
From the Collection:
United Food & Commercial Workers Union of America, Local 204 (Winston-Salem, N.C.) records, 1976-1996, consist of grievances, contract negotiations, office files, newspaper clippings, NLRB cases, legal files, and financial records. Almost all of these materials concern Local 204's work to represent workers at Harris-Teeter Grocery stores in North Carolina. Many of these files were retained by Local 204 to assist them in representing members from the newly absorbed Local 525 (Asheville, N.C.).
