Scope and Contents
Interviewed by Traci Drummond. In this interview, Barnes discusses his childhood growing up on a farm. He then focuses on his work in the aircraft industry and the labor union. He discusses creating a new district and the many roles he played in the union. He also talks about his retirement, his family life, and work in the Retirees Club.

Biographical Note
Claude Barnes was born in 1927 in Arkansas. He did not attend school regularly and joined the army in 1945 (left in 1948). Barnes spent most of his life working in Missouri in the aircraft industry. He held many positions within his union and is currently the president of the Retirees Club.
