Standard printed contract and "Synchronization Schedule": The contract is dated February 8, 1954, between Joy Music Inc. and Johnny Mercer and Al Hansen, assigning rights to "Hoping." The printed form used is the "1947 Revised Uniform Popular Songwriters Contract." The contract assigns copyright of the song to Joy Music Inc. for 28 years. Payment for the song is spelled out in detail. The contract is for publication rights. Signatures on last page are of George Joy (?) for Joy Music Inc.; Johnny Mercer, 8218 DeLongpre Ave.; and Al Hansen, 1303 No. Bronson.; and is countersigned for the Songwriters' Protective Association by Margaret Thiele, February 19, 1954. "Synchronization Schedule, Forming a Part of 1947 Revised Uniform Popular Songwriters' Contract" dated February 8, 1954, gives a fee schedule for "synchronization" of the song with motion pictures. Signed by same signatories as the contract and dated by Thiele February 19, 1954.
