"Forget-Me-Not" (by Johnny Mercer and Jacques Arel) contract, 26 October 1971

Typescript contract: "Agreement made this 26th day of October, 1971 by and between Johnny Mercer [. . .] and Chappell & Co., Inc. [. . .]" Chappell acquired the rights to Jacques Arel's song "Quand ce jour arrive," with French lyrics by Frank Gerald. This contract with Mercer is for the English lyrics, "Forget-Me-Not." The contract gives Mercer one dollar for the rights to his lyrics, and assigns to Mercer set amounts of royalty payments that are clearly spelled out in the contract. Signed on last page by Mercer and Norman A. Weiser, for Chappell & Co., Inc.
