Standard printed contract and transmittal letter: The contract is dated May 13, 1955, between World Music, Inc. and Serge Walter and Johnny Mercer, assigning rights to "The Echo of a Dream." The printed form used is the "1947 Revised Uniform Popular Songwriters Contract." The contract assigns copyright of the song to World Music for 28 years. Payment for the song is spelled out in detail. The contract is for publication rights. Signatures on last page are of a representative of World Music [indecipherable], 607 Fifth Ave. N.Y. 17, N.Y.; Serge Walter, 252 E. 60th St., N.Y. 22, N.Y.; Johnny Mercer, 8218 DeLongpre Avenue, Hollywood 46, Calif.; and is countersigned for the Songwriters' Protective Association by Margaret Thiele, June 7, 1955. Transmittal letter dated June 15, 1955, is signed by Miriam Stern, Executive Director, Songwriters' Protective Association, and addressed to "Mr. John H. Mercer, c/o Vernon D. Wood, 2018 N. Vine St., Hollywood, California."
