Biographical Note
Herman Russell is an Atlatna native and businessman. He inhereted H.J. Russell Plastering Company, and turned it into the Russell Company, one of the largest minority-owned businesses in the country. He was deeply involved in the Civil Rights Movement in Altanta, as well as city politics.
