Scope and Content of the Series

From the Series:

Series IV is made up of a set of 103 photographs. About 75 of the images feature Frances Wallace in portrait shots, in performances as a soloist, or in performances or rehearsals of various musical groups. A small group of about 5 photographs are portraits of contemporary performers, including Albert Coleman, Helen Draper, and Harry James. These 80 photographs are arranged in approximate chronological order at the beginning of the series.

About 22 images of performers in the Southern Gentlemen Orchestra, an all-male group during the late 1930s, is also included in this series. These photographs presumably feature Frank Power as one of the band members (the photographs were originally enclosed in an envelope addressed to Mr. Power from the American Federation of Musicians). These photographs are filed at the end of this series.
