Interviewed by Cyndi Carpentieri. In this interview, Stephanie McClure begins by discussing growing up in a conservative Christian environment and how her experiences during her college years influenced her to become more politically progressive. She then describes her local participation in political activism and motivation to join the Women's March in Washington, D.C. In terms of the march itself, McClure describes her experience of the stress and logistics of the march as well as her overall perceptions of the march and post-march analysis in the media. Finally, she concludes by discussing her activism after the march and her hopes for long term political change.

Biographical Note
Stephanie McClure was born in Missouri in 1976. Although she was raised in a strongly conservative Christian household, McClure became a progressive activist in her local community and was one of the many women who participated in the 2016 Women's March in Washington, D.C. She is currently a Professor of Sociology at Georgia College and researches education, race, sex and gender.
