Scope and Contents of the Subseries
Subseries D, Modulations, undated, consists of a series of brief musical passages in various styles (such as "Viennese," "Scotch," and "Oriental") that modulate from one key to another. These passages are written out in manuscript, in full score as well as individual parts (usually strings, flute, clarinet and piano). The modulations are in order by key, beginning with C major (followed by C#, D, Eb, etc.) and ending with B major.
