Interviewed by Lisa Flaherty. In this interview, Michelle Riley discusses her history with pro-choice activism. She describes her experience at the March for Women's Lives in Washington, D.C. in 2004, and compares that march with the 2017 Women's March on Washington. She talks about her experience at the Women's March on Washington, and expresses dismay that more people did not see Donald Trump's election coming. She talks about her feeling that younger people need to take up the mantle of activism, and that young women especially have a responsibility to run for public office.

Biographical Note

Michelle Riley was born in Alabama in 1960 and grew up in Texas. She went to college in Los Angeles, where she first became active in the pro-choice movement. She later moved to Atlanta and worked for Jimmy Carter. Riley currently lives in Savannah, Ga.
