Scope and Contents

Interviewed by Karen Stephens. In this interview, Sherry Adams describes the ways that she became aware of various social issues as a young person. Adams discusses in detail the various forms of social and political activism in which she has engaged in the past, including advocating for reproductive rights and other feminist causes and participating in an antiracist march alongside Hosea Williams. She talks about her distress at Donald Trump's election, which led to her decision to attend the Women's March on Washington with a friend. Adams discusses her experience at the march, including the positivity of the crowd, the sign she carried, and talking to other marchers. Throughout the interview, Adams expresses her support for Hillary Clinton, her disregard for Donald Trump, and her belief in the importance of political participation.

Sherry Adams was born in Savannah, Ga. in 1944. She currently lives in Atlanta, where she works as a realtor.
