Scope and Contents
Interviewed by Karen Stephens. In this interview, Roni Schalman discusses her reasons for participating in the Atlanta March for Social Justice and Women, including her devastation at Donald Trump's election. She discusses her experience getting to the march, meeting other marchers, hearing John Lewis, and making her way through the crowd. Throughout the interview, Schalman stresses the importance of political involvement, and she expresses gratitude that younger people have been galvanized to be more active by Trump's election. She expresses the hope that people look beyond the march to think of what they can do in the future to stay involved in resisting the Trump agenda and the damage it could cause.

Biographical Note
Roni Schalman was born in 1955 in Spring Valley, N.Y. She moved to Atlanta in the 1970s. She is self-employed as a bookkeeper and pet boarder.
