Scope and Contents of the Series
The document and printed materials series consist of correspondence, programs, scripts, production notes, personal and biographical notes and the newsclippings reviewing Margaret's show appearances. 'Newsclipping [general]' folders are all appearances, sightings and any mentionings over the some five decades of Whitings theatrical career.
There are also Johnny Mercer items which includes sheet music of his music, correspondence, and newsclippings following his career, due in part to Margaret Whiting's close mentor relationship with Mercer.
