Scope and Contents
Interviewed by Andrew Reisinger. In this interview, Vaile discusses his childhood and youth in Louisville, Kentucky. He then discusses how he found himself working as a photographer for The Great Speckled Bird. He briefly discusses his time working for the newspaper and his life in Atlanta.

Biographical Note
Phil Vaile was born in 1942 in Chicago, Ill. He graduated high school in 1960. He went to Georgetown, but later transferred to finish his degree in Louisville, Ky., where he earned a bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in photography). Vaile worked for The Great Speckled Bird as a photographer. After working for The Bird, he worked in software development and consulting.
