Scope and Contents
Interviewed by Andrew Reisinger. In this interview, Teddi Vaile describes her childhood as the daughter of a high-ranking army officer and her often difficult college experiences. She then offers her perspective on the operations and dynamics of The Great Speckled Bird and its staff. Finally, Vaille discusses her activism in the socialist organizations the October League and the Atlanta Labor Group during the 1970s and her career as a nurse in the Atlanta, Ga. area.

Biographical Note:
Teddi Vaile was born in 1946 in Bowling Green, Ky. During the 1970s, Vaile was a member of The Great Speckled Bird staff and was involved in the October League and the Atlanta Labor Group. She spent much of her professional career as a nurse practitioner before retiring.
