Scope and Content of the Series
The Georgia Democratic Party series covers the political activities of Joseph Jacobs from 1988-1997. Jacobs was a life long active member of the Democratic Party on the local, state, and national level. Jacobs served as a delegate for Georgia at the National Democratic Party Convention three times including the 1988, 1992 and 1996 conventions. Jacobs served on the board of registration and election and was also both the attorney for and chair of the Fulton County Democratic Party. These papers include correspondence, speeches, publications, official proceedings, newspaper clippings, finance and management documents, and artifacts. Also included are newspapers and printed material related to the 1966 gubernatorial election in Georgia.
