Scope and Contents
Interviewed by Jon Nielson: This interview was done with two sisters, both originally born in Colombia (Hansen went to live with other relatives as a child). Topics covered during the interview include religion, education, differences in Colombian and US cultures, the division of cities in Colombia (rich and poor), markets and shopping, health services, Colombian weddings and funerals, how they were sponsored to come to the United States, each sister's initial reaction to their new environment, going to beauty school, dating and marriage, and final comparisons between social issues here and in Colombia.
