Klenert's correspondence is primarily with UTWA Vice-Presidents, international representatives, and organizers, and concerns: local union affiliation with AFL central labor councils and state federations; status reports from organizers; per capita tax payments to the UTWA and to the AFL; credentials of UTWA and AFL convention delegates; local union contributions to the UTWA Defense Fund; financial and clerical details of organizing campaigns; reports on arbitration and negotiation sessions; records relating to part-time organizers hired to work at specific times and places; and records describing local union participation in Labor's League for Political Education.

Correspondents other than UTWA staff members include: William Green, George Meany, the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Labor's League for Political Education, the National Labor Relations Board and some of its regional offices, the Labor Department of Canada, the Trades and Labor Congress of Canada, and the International Labor Office.

The correspondence of Secretary-Treasurer Lloyd Klenert spans the years 1946 to 1952. The location of previous and subsequent correspondence files is unknown. Material in this series arrived as part of accession L1973-54.
