Scope and Content Note of the Series
This series consists of correspondence, texts of radio speeches, news stories, handbills, texts of negotiation meetings, National Labor Relations Board case material, and legal documents relating to the 1974 strike against the Dan River Mills by UTWA Local 248, South Virginia Joint Board. Included is documentation of a suit filed by Local 248 against the City of Danville for its failure to make food stamps available to the striking workers. Material in this series arrived as part of accession L1973-54.
