Scope and Content of the Collection
The collection of Paul L. Styles, Sr., 1950-1972, contains his correspondence and speeches during his three years as a member of the National Labor Relations Board and his eleven years as the Chief Labor Relations officer with NASA. The correspondence makes up the bulk of the papers and includes discussion of the hunt for Communists in the NLRB, the communist influence in the labor movement, segregation of union locals in the South and appropriation and personnel matters of the NLRB's 10th region. The speeches concern collective bargaining, the work of the NLRB, and the unique features and problems of labor relations in the space program.
