Scope and Contents of the Records
From the Collection:
The collection consists of records of the Georgia State Council of Machinists from 1956-1971. Includes correspondence (1957-1971) dealing mainly with the Council's arrangement for conferences, conventions, and labor education seminars. The minutes (1956-1971) document the Council's principal activity of working to influence legislation favorable to workers through its work with the Machinists Non-Partisan Political League and the Georgia State Labor Legislative Committee. Also includes financial documents (1956-1968) and printed material (1956-1966).
