Scope and Content of the Papers

From the Collection:

The bulk of the Dorothy J. Tracy Papers, circa 1967-1995, focuses on Tracy's efforts to ratify the ERA in Georgia through such organizations as the League of Women Voters of Georgia and Atlanta/Fulton, Georgians for ERA, and ERA Georgia, Inc. [the former Georgia Council for ERA]. The papers are organized by General Correspondence, 1972-1992; Personal materials, 1967-1995; and Speaking Engagements and Teaching, 1977-1987, followed by subject files arranged alphabetically. Tracy's work for ERA ratification is documented mainly through correspondence and printed material (newsclippings, newsletters, and pamphlets) as well as artifacts. Tracy's activities in organizations such as the AARP, 1986-1988, 1995, and the Atlanta Council for Children, 1979-1981; in the business sector, 1977-1981, 1985, 1987; and in personal achievement, 1977; 1984; 1986-1994 are documented through award certificates, correspondence, pamphlets, and printed materials.
