Scope and Contents of the Series
Campaigns and Projects series, 1964-2010, documents a variety of programs designed to create greater awareness of contraceptive choices. Records in the series relate to initiatives such as the school-based programs VOX and Adopt-A-School, which revolved around sex education in the schools to prevent teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases; Boys to Men, which sought to teach personal responsibility and making good choices; Project UJIMA, the word ujima (Oo-Gee-Mah) comes from the Swahili language of Africa meaning "collective work and responsibility" and the Emergency Contraception Campaign, which was aimed to make the "morning after" contraceptive pill more accessible to Georgians.
