Legislative priorities requested by the Board of Education for the 1995 session, December 1994
Scope and Contents note
The files on Atlanta Public Schools (APS) contain articles, correspondence, reports, and financial statistics comparing APS fiscally, scholastically, and philosophically with local and national levels. The series reflects Trotter's service on several education-related committees, including the Advisory Committee of Research Atlanta, which studied the feasibility implementing more career and technical education opportunities in the Atlanta region, and Good Government Atlanta, which looked into financial reform of APS. Numerous articles and news clippings collected by Trotter document trends, programs and issues facing public education.
Please note that folders entitled "Atlanta Public Schools Chamber Education Committee," "Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce," or containing the word "Chamber'' in the title represent the Atlanta Public Schools Education Committee of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, which is not to be confused with the Atlanta Committee for Public Education. More information on that organization as well as Trotter's reference files on education issues can be found in Series VIII.
